A Clinical Study on Central Serous Retinopathy

Abstract
An analysis has been made of 74 eyes in the 72 central serovs retinopathy patients treated in Chungnam National University Hospital during last 3 years.
The patients in this study were mainly male between 4th and 5th decades, occupying 77. 8% of all cases.
Only 10 eyes were treated with photocoagulation and the remainders with medication.
Fifty-six eyes could be followed up and 36 eyes(48. 6%) of them had their visual acuity over 0. 8 after treatment.
Current literature on the photocoagulation indicates that these modes of therapy may be useful in the management of central serous retinopathy. But caution should be paid on the indication of photocoagulation, since most previous therapeutic remedies have been
met with enthusiastic acclaim and spontaneous remission of approximately 40 % with negligible morbidity has been reported.
